Records: Crawford Study Collection 1930-1938, n.d. (inclusive).

This series consists of subject files (n.d.) and scrapbooks (1930-1938) that were acquired in 1955 when the Crawford collection was given as a gift to the department. The bulk of the subject files are made up photographs of costumes and textiles from a variety of countries. The images depicted do not represent objects from the Brooklyn Museum collection. The files, created by M.D.C. Crawford for research purposes, are representative of the subject matter that Crawford explored in articles, and exhibitions. Other documents in this series, such as correspondence, manuscripts, reports, and brochures can mainly be found in the Cotton and Silk files. Files in this series also reveal Crawford's involvement with industry, including textile mills.
